THE GINGERBREAD CASTLE
By RedPrincess {{~_~}}

If I had a Gingerbread Castle
I'd fill it up with tales
of princesses and princes
whose honor never fails

An evil witch would bake her goods
to tempt a sister and brother
A woman who lives in a shoe
would worry like no other

And in the tree filled forest
all creatures would be friends
with dwarves who mine
the gem filled lines
in happy story ends

If I had a Gingerbread Castle
I'd build a factory
To make sweet treats
for kids to eat
right there for all to see

If I had a Gingerbread Castle
surrounding the terrain
would be a track to bring us back
on a most magical train

If I had a Gingerbread castle
in an enchanted land
they'd travel miles for children's smiles
Adventures would be grand

Dedicated to the one and only Gingerbread Castle in Hamburg, NJ which delighted children of all ages for many, many years. This amazing place was built in 1929 and opened the next year, preceeding all of the other famous theme parks we all know today. Sadly, it now stands in ruins, neglected, deteriorating and abandoned. Maybe, just maybe, some day, someone will breath the magic back into it, so it can once again entertain and thrill an entirely new generation.
